Hiking Route Description:
Take Ecology trail to officers row where there is a cannon display. Then head to the coast to see live gigantic cannons facing the ocean. Then go to Lands End to see real shipwrecks that are visible above water.
Hike Description:
This is both, one of the most beautiful walks in San Francisco and a super hike for history geeks and people who geek out over cannons.The route we will take will go through the Ecology trail to officers row where there is a cannon display. Then head to the coast to see live gigantic cannons facing the ocean. Then go to Lands End to see real shipwrecks that are visible above water.

The trail isn't very strenuous, but the overall hike will be a few miles. And if people get tired they can turn back any time.
Is the six miles one way? How do we get back to the start? Is there some sort of carpool?
Liz, we'll figure something out for the way back. Public transportation is available. In general, the walk back will be 1 mile or 1.5 miles since it is a straight walk.
