Hiking Groups Nearby
Before Work Hiking | Distance: 7.88 km
Description: This is a group for short morning hikes
Milpitas Social Group | Distance: 7.9 km
Description: This group is for all ages!! We do things from San Francisco to Santa Barbara and occasionally all the way to Los Angeles. Dinners, pot lucks, hikes, walks, bikes, camping, happy hours, treat yourself to a massage/spa treatment. Run into old friend! Everybody has to eat and exercise sometime – might as well do it in good company of others. As we see it, one of the reasons to create this group is for singles of all ages to get together and have fun. Struggling with Divorce? Meet other persons who are either anticipating or are in the midst of divorce, custody, or support-related issues and need some direction. Just broke up with a boyfriend/girlfriend. Well join the group! …or just killing times until Mr/Ms. "RIGHT" comes along! To those newly singled and are yet unsure what they want to do with their lives. We suggest a period of experimental single of growth where you can try a variety of new things, new friends, new attitudes etc... You just need to find what is really right for YOU! In the meantime you do need some fun. Our suggestion is to set your goal for the next year, along with other things that make you happy as a single person and learning to enjoy life to its fullest extent. To make friends with others or whatever you need to lead to a happy life. If you picture yourself as always being alone, miserable or whatever then your subconscious will see to it that you do things to keep you that way or you can constantly visualize yourself as having fun, being with other people to do whatever necessary to get you out of that mood onto the mainline of a HAPPY, NEW LIFE OF FREEDOM. DO IT NOW! By signing up and tell yourself that there is absolutely no need to be miserable. As most people spend more time planning a weekend than they do planning the rest of their life.

Oat Hill Mine Road and the Palisades | Distance: 94 km
Description: Introduction
The palisades are beautiful, and this hike offers gorgeous views of it and the Calistoga valley. This hike simply goes up to Robert Louis Stevenson park or Down from the park to the Pizza place at the trailhead. This makes it easy to offer several hiking options - people can simply turn around when they are tired. The grade is fairly easy on the knees but undulates across the front of the palisades.
Extra Items:
Most of this hike is exposed to the sun. We recommend doing it during winter, or on cool days <65F. Bring 3-4 22oz water bottles each for 65 degree weather. Seriously! Wear sturdy hiking boots, the palisades trail is not well worn and is rocky in places. If you have them, bring 2-way radios so the fast + slow groups can keep in touch.
Hiking options:
◾Carpool: Add 2 hours to each of these times to cover carpooling + lunch + hike intro.
◾Short hike to bald hill: 2 hours 45 mins. 5.7 miles, 1300ft gain/loss.
◾Medium hike to Pali ....
3 peaks and a pub: Mt Davidson to Twin Peaks to beer | Distance: 41.5 km
Description: We will begin at Bus Stop (43) on Miraloma Dr & Marne Ave. Following meeting we will explore Mount Davidson, at 927 feet, it's the highest point in San Francisco. This 40 acre park has expansive views so let's hope for some sunshine! There is also a very large cross. We will then walk to the backside of Twin Peaks and get wind swept. After we ooh and ahhh a bit we will cruise down the peaks toward Cole Valley and find a pub that will fill us with tasty beverages.
Enjoy a little green before we get green: Mt Sutro Forest and Golden Gate Park then St. Pat's celebr | Distance: 42.4 km
Description: We begin in Cole Valley on the corner of Parnassus and Willard Street. Hike into Mt Sutro Forest (find the fairy gates) cross Claredon Avenue and head downhill to Tank Hill Park then back into Cole Valley to Golden Gate Park. We hike through the park exploring Lily Pond, AIDS Memorial, Stow Lake, and Strawberry Hill! We will then venture into the Inner Richmond and end up at a pub -- maybe Buckshot Bar & Gameroom where we can toast to the Irish!
Beach Blanket Bingo Hike: Beach, Sutro Baths, a Labrynith and a Tiki Bar | Distance: 44.5 km
Description: We will meet on the ocean side across the street from Java Beach Cafe. We will then walk up Ocean Beach towards Sutro Baths. We will then walk along the cliffs of Land's End Trail to the Labyrinth and continue to El Camino del Mar. We will then wind our way through pretty streets to Trdr Sam's Tiki Bar on Geary. It is there we will rest and have a nice ice cream drink reward.
Climb Up: Two for one uphill Glen Canyon Park and Mt Davidson (and of course a cold beer reward) | Distance: 40.1 km
Description: We will meet outside the Glen Park BART station entrance. From there we will walk towards Glen Canyon Park. It is a city park that occupies about 70 acres along a deep canyon adjacent to the Glen Park, Diamond Heights, and Miraloma Park neighborhoods. It has a nice uphill climb. After exploring the park we will walk down Portola Drive to Mt Davidson. Yup. it's a two-for-one uphill adventure. After seeing the big ass cross I am sure we will be quite parched so we will descend and walk to West Portal for a frosty beverage. This is a point A to point B so plan accordingly for transportation.
