Trailhead Name: Arroyo Seco - Gorge

Distance: 68.51 km

Trailhead Description: Take 101 south. Turn right on Arroyo Seco Road (about 1 mile south of Soledad). Continue on Arroyo Seco Road, at the Y take left ( the right is G16). Pay $7 fee at the entrance booth. Continue to the Gorge parking (past campground) . Bathrooms are available at the campground, not at the trailhead.

Distance: 127.04 km

Trailhead Description: Headquarters entrance has a visitor center (open, I believe 9am-4pm). The store sells maps (the 1: 24,000 with 50-foot contour lines map of the park can be purchased here ) , books, brochures (some excellent materials specific to the park). Day Use Fee $8 (as of May 2011).

Trailhead Name: Rancho Canada del Oro Open Space Preserve

Distance: 129.84 km

Trailhead Description: Large parking lot, easy access to 20+ miles of trails. Rancho Canada del Oro is adjacent to Calero County park in San Jose. Large parking lot. But if you have a really large group, it is recommended to contact a ranger so they open overflow parking DIRECTIONS: From hwy 101: take Bernal road south, turn left onto Santa Teresa Blvd (go 2.9 mi), right onto Bailey ave ( go 2.3 mi), left onto McKean road (go 2.4 mi), right onto Casa Loma road, proceed about 2 miles to the Casa Loma staging area. Allow 20-25 minutes from the exit off the freeway. From Almaden Expwy: turn right on Harry, then left on McKean, right on Casa Loma. Proceed about 2 miles to the Casa Loma staging area. Trailhead Description: This is one of the entrances to Santa Teresa County park. Small dirt parking lot. Access to Stile Ranch and Fortini trails. Directions: From San Jose, take Almaden expressway until it ends, turn right on Harry road, them left on McKean.Drive apprx 1.3 miles to Fortini road where turn left. At the T-junction turn left onto San Vicente, parking will be on the right side of the road

Trailhead Description: To get here, take Bernal road south (towards hills). Turn left down to the valley in the center of the park. Pay fee at the self-serve station on the small parking on the right side of the road and proceed down to the larger parking lot. Open 8AM - sunset.

50 mile endurance walk - The Commute 2012 - San Jose to San Francisco | Distance: 144.3 km

Description: The Commute is a 50 mile, 24-hour endurance walk (urban hike) from downtown San Jose to downtown San Francisco along historic Route 82 (The Alameda, El Camino Real and Mission Street). Starting in the morning, participants spend one full day walking (urban hiking) through and experiencing the communities that we often drive past in the rush of our daily commutes. Beatiful view, flower blloming, moderate hike; Meeting point: Drive about 5 miles to the far end of the Calero Reservoir (past the entrance near the boat launch), then turn right into the park. Continue about 0.2 mile to the parking area on the right side of the road.
