- Stansbury Island hike in Utah
- Hike description: VP hikers, Lets give our snowshoes a break and do a hike on Stansbury Island. We are doing the loop hike past the Fremont Indian Rock Art. If you have never seen the art, its well worth seeing. The island is a peaceful place to just take in the beauty of the Great Salt Lake on a cool Fall day. I don't expect mud on our route, but you might want to bring grocery bags to cover your shoes in the car. Bruce may offer a snowshoe Sunday and if he does, I will post that later. DOGS: Are allowed, but you will need to drive you and your hairy friend to the trailhead. There is no water on the island for your dog. WEATHER ISSUES: If we need to cancel from weather issues, I will send out an email by 8:00 AM Sunday morning. So check your email before you go to the meeting place. DIFFICULTY: Easy/Moderate ELEVATION GAIN: Unsure ROUND TRIP MILES: About 5 miles LUNCH WITH GREAT SALT LAKE VIEWS: Don't forget to bring a lunch, sunscreen and water.
