My name is Laure but people know me as Frog Mom, author of a family travel/outdoors blog at www.frogmom.com. I have two kids age 5 & 7 and we hike a lot as a family. Inspired by them, I just completed a hiking guidebook due out this fall 2011 called "Best Hikes with Kids San Francisco Bay Area." I also manage a Facebook page called "Best Hikes for Kids in the Bay Area" that gives the inside scoop on local nature outings, family hikes and trail tips. Glad to be part of this hiking community.

- Hike description: The GirlVentures 2012 Friends and Family Hike is a fun, adventurous way to experience the natural beauty of the California coast while supporting GirlVentures. GirlVentures is a local nonprofit whose mission is to empower adolescent girls to develop and express their strengths. This is one of our most important fundraisers of the year. All ages are welcome! GirlVentures awards scholarships to two-thirds of all participants. Register now to help ensure that girls in the Bay Area have access to empowering outdoor education programs.
